Australian gov, media networks reached by Israeli firm’s spy ads

Israeli commercial spyware firm Insanet's advertising-based surveillance tool, Sherlock, was found delivering tracking ads across Australian government and media networks, including the Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation and critical infrastructure systems. The ads can infect devices without user interaction. Researchers say the findings highlight how ad-tech infrastructure can be exploited for targeted espionage.
