Meta sued in Australian class action
Matched: Australia
A class action lawsuit has been filed against Meta in Australia, alleging the company's social media platforms have caused harm to children. The case reflects growing legal pressure on tech giants over child safety, joining similar actions in other countries as governments and courts increasingly scrutinize the impact of social media on young users' mental health and wellbeing.
Meta Muse AI Privacy Flaw Exposes Confidential Business Data Through Shared Chat Links
Matched: Claude
Meta paused its Muse AI conversation-sharing feature after researchers at Claroc found that shared chat links could be discovered without receiving them directly. Shared pages used hostnames combining conversation titles with random IDs, which passive DNS services recorded and preserved. Anyone could then reconstruct working links and view contents without signing in. Researchers found over 6,800 share hostnames and confirmed some pages contained sensitive business documents, financial records, and executive communications. No malware or confirmed misuse was identified. Meta disabled the feature on October 20 while reviewing the issue.
